Paul is married to Jill with two grown up sons, one living in Australia. Paul and Jill’s daughter Jenny suddenly died in April 2014 of heart failure aged 38, leaving four sons.  The lack of a defibrillator in Speen was highlighted by this sad event and Paul became interested in providing Public Access Defibrillators in rural areas where Ambulance Services are stretched to meet targets.

About Us

At present Defibrillators are not available locally within many Parishes surrounding Princes Risborough and ambulance response can be in excess of 12 minutes. It is a recognised fact that if treatment to stabilise a patient’s heart is provided quickly then the patient has a much improved chance of making a full recovery.

The Rural Defibrillator Project seeks to provide equipment for public use that can lessen the danger to life or life-changing consequences of heart failure. The charity was initially sponsored by Princes Risborough Golf Club and subsequently further local companies have joined us to help our cause. For example Risboro Garage have funded a defibrillator sited at the Fire Station in Princes Risborough, are funding an ambulance for the “Risboro First Responders” and are raising money for further defibrillators alongside of us.

We are looking for other local Companies and Individuals who want to put something back into the local community to join us. We are grateful for all of the help we can get.
